The Cup
The Cure Cup was created as a sister event to the Cure Bowl and occurs each year on the Monday following The Masters Tournament. The tournamnet is played in rotation at the top two private member-only golf courses in Orlando (Isleworth Golf and Country Club and Lake Nona Golf and Country Club). The Orlando Sports Foundation is the energy behind the annual Cure Cup golf tournament and has been supporting cutting-edge cancer research at UCF College of Medicine and its Lake Nona Cancer Center - as well as providing scholarships for medical students through the history of the event. Join us for the 9th Annual Cure Cup on April 15, 2024 at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club.
It was 2015 when a group of Central Florida business leaders and philanthropists were successful in bringing a new college football post-season bowl game to Orlando - they were firm with their goal to make this bowl different by connecting it directly to a charitable cause. They called themselves Orlando Sports Foundation - and the cause was Breast Cancer. Fast forward 7 years and over $4.1 million donated to (BCRF) Breast Cancer Research Foundation the Cure Bowl is an Orlando holiday tradition - played each year in December and has been played at both Camping World Stadium and Exploria Stadium. Today the Cure Bowl holds strong to their leadership role in the community in elevating breast cancer awareness and reserach - and has also expanded their mission to tackle all types of cancers.
